COMMERCIAL VEHICLE & BUS TRADE FAIR TO OPEN IN MOSCOW

Event will be the first of its kind to showcase commercial transportation vehicles for Russia's huge "drive for pay" industry

(Stamford, CT & Moscow, Russian Federation - 14 July 2004) - International Exhibition Group (IEG) and the Russian Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs (RUIE) today jointly announced the launch of the Commercial Vehicle & Bus Trade Fair, the first Russian event specifically targeted to buyers of commercial vehicles, buses, parts and accessories for the country's booming transport industry. Over 20,000 truck, bus & fleet buyers are expected to attend.

Commercial Vehicle & Bus will be held on 9-12 September 2004 at the new, state of the art, Crocus City Expo Center in Moscow. With a population of 150 million people, spanning 11 times zones and serviced by 600,000 miles of public roads, Russia has an enormous task of transporting goods, services and people with outdated equipment. A recent report by the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce stated that "the freight forwarding market in Russia is developing quickly and offers good commercial opportunities to U.S. companies selling heavy freight vehicles and spare parts. Due to little competition from Russian truck manufacturers, growing freight volumes and an annual replacement demand for heavy trucks and trailers, conditions are favorable for new market entrants"..

A specialised "truck & bus" event has been needed for quite some time in Russia and has been needed by buyer and seller alike. Volvo Truck Corporation in Moscow welcomed the show. "We believe this is a very good initiative to arrange an exhibition specifically for commercial vehicles in Russia," stated Anastasia Mikheeva. Arkady Volsky, the President of the 350,000-member Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs stated, "Our members, who represent more than 60 percent of the GDP in Russia, wanted to attend a showcase of the world's most popular and important commercial vehicles. The need to acquire new transport and replace outdated vehicles is a priority in this country"..

Commercial Vehicle & Bus will be organised by International Expo RUIE, jointly produced and promoted by IEG & RUIE internationally. For information about exhibiting in or sponsoring this event contact Matthew Phillips, IEG Event Director at USA# (203) 357-1400 or e:Mail to: mphillips@iegexpo.com.
